On 19 November the Bury St Edmunds Christmas Lights were switched on. This year, thanks to locality budget donations from Paul Farmer and Mark Ereira-Guyer, Market Thoroughfare and Central Walk have been lit for the first time. This was considered particularly important by the Christmas Lights Committee, which I chair, due to the need to link the lighting displays in the Cattle Market development with the existing town centre.

As always, none of this would have been possible without the huge contribution of the Town Centre Manager, Steve Peters, who, as he does year-on-year, went beyond the call of duty to deliver the best possible display for the town.
