About Richard
Richard has lived in and around Bury St Edmunds all his life and was educated at a middle school and upper school in the town. He currently lives just off Risbygate Street in the town centre. Richard runs his own political and media consultancy business, through which he has worked on issues of national importance both here and in the United States. His local clients have included, among others, David Ruffley MP, Richard Spring, then MP for West Suffolk and Ben Gummer MP. Richard was first elected to Bury St Edmunds Town Council in 2005 and St Edmundsbury Borough Council in 2007. He served as Chairman of Bury St Edmunds Town Council (an annual appointment) during the 2008/09 civic year and is currently Chairman of St Edmundsbury Borough Council's Sustainable Development Panel and St Edmundsbury’s representative on the Bid4Bury board. In his spare time, he takes a keen interest in sport, the arts and cooking. He can quite often be spotted walking his miniature dachshund, Rufus, around the town.
